The manufacturing of glass is very interesting. Over the years, it has come a long way and many different types of processes have been introduced. The earliest use of glass was the Obsidian (naturally occurring volcanic glass) which was used in the form of weapons, money, and even jewellery. - The Glass blow method:

The mould is then transferred to the final mould where the glass is reheated to form the final shape. The final moulding is done with the help of compressed air and vacuum.
- Press and blow method:
The gob is transferred to a mould with the help of plunger, instead of blowing. This step helps in giving the desired shape to the glass. With the help of a mechanical arm, the partially formed shape is transferred to a finishing mould where blowing is done to attain the desired shape. The finished jar is then taken out by the tongs and held briefly over the cooling plate.
